    STR-35 – Multi-Mission Master – TRL8/9

The STR-35, produced by Stromkind, is a highly versatile VTOL platform which can provide the operational capability of helicopters for manned-reconnaissance missions for a fraction of the CAPEX and OPEX of tradition payload-carrying platforms. The platform is compliant with European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) requirements for Beyond Visual Line of Sight flights and is easy to train.

    Key performance parameters include:

MTOW: 100kg with 35kg for Payloads and 9kg of Fuel

    Endurance: 6 hours, 750km, 125kph Cruise Speed

Altitude: 3,600m with High Altitude Blades

    Stable Platform with Fewer Parts

The efficient Flettner Design (using a set of two counter-rotating rotor-blades) provides a highly stable platform with less stress is placed upon the airframe compared to a reliance upon typical helicopter designs with tail-rotors. In addition to providing stability for image and data capture, the reduced stress and number of mechanical parts results in lower maintenance requirements.

    Operates in Adverse Weather

The platform is designed in accordance with IP65, and is therefore able to operate in highly challenging weather conditions. As shown in this video, even without the body of the STR-35 being fitted, it is possible to fly in rain and winds up to 30m/s (108kph). The platform is also capable of operating in temperatures of -30℃ to +55℃.

    High Modularity and Integration Flexibility

The STR-35 uses a highly modular design concept where sensors and assets can be integrated within the platform, or via dedicated outer-rigs bolted onto the fuselage – enabling rapid changes in mission set-ups. The platform can also be operated from a mobile command station, the kit for which fits into standard vans (e.g. Ford Transit, Mercedes Sprinter), allowing for rapid deployment and redeployments.
